The heart of the campus

The lifeline of an educational institution is its library. SCCZ encourages all Claretines to make use of the library facilities to the maximum. The College Library is RFID-enabled and uses KOHA software for easy access to books and study materials, and has been made “open access” for optimum and efficient use.

Library Norms

Working hours: Open on all working days, 8:30 AM to 3:30 PM.
Every student/staff entering and leaving the library must sign the Log Book at the Counter.
Reference Section books are for spot reference only and may not be taken out; issue against submission of ID card, returned before leaving.
No books/journals/periodicals/newspapers other than those issued against one’s own library card may be taken outside.
Library materials are issued only against one’s own ID card — never against a borrowed card.
The College ID Card doubles as the Library Card. A lost card is replaced for ₹250.
A book is issued for one week and can be renewed once, after a week’s gap. Late return invites a fine of ₹10/day.
Lost books must be replaced within 14 days of the due date, or the current edition’s cost + ₹200 penalty is levied.
The Library has a dedicated computer section for online reference.
A Library No Dues Certificate is mandatory for the University Examination Admit Card.
First-semester students attend a Library Orientation Session; a “Library Week” is observed each August.
Strict silence must be maintained in the Library at all times.
