CENTRE – SAINT CLARET COLLEGE, ZIRO, ARUNACHAL PRADESH

The use of Remote Sensing, Geographical Information System, Global Navigation Satellite System and associated geospatial technologies is increasing rapidly, creating an urgent demand for trained manpower. The live and interactive mode of distance learning is enabled through Internet and A-view software platform developed by Amrita e-learning Lab in collaboration with Ministry of Human Resource Development (MHRD) Government of India. The programs are available through Internet without any cost to the user. The live and interactive sessions will be conducted by experts from IISR-ISRO and other knowledge Institutions. IIRS has successfully conducted 22 such courses so far with participation of over 120258+ participants from 1048+ academic institutions, government departments and industry. IIRS also conducts various theme oriented online courses and monthly webinars on recent topics on geospatial technologies and its applications. Users are encouraged to actively participate on these programs.

Target participants:

• Student of Undergraduate and Postgraduate courses (any year);
• Technical/ Scientific Staff of Central/ State Government Ministries/ Departments;
• Faculty / Researchers at university / Institutions.

Saint Claret College, Ziro is anodal center for conducting Outreach programs and online certificate courses in collaboration with IIRS (Indian Institute of Remote Sensing), Dehradun under its Distance Learning Program. The College has a well-equipped GIS and RS Laboratory for conducting regular courses according to IIRS annual program.

Besides regular and professional courses, the college also offers the following add-on courses:

DCA (DIPLOMA IN COMPUTER APPLICATIONS)

Every student who joins the SCCZ family but lacks computer skills is required to enroll for the one-year diploma program in computer applications.

During the year, they learn the following skills:

• Fundamentals of Computer, Introductions to Operating Systems, Windows OS, Graphical packages, MS-Office Packages, Project Work.
• Page Maker, Corel Draw 10, Photoshop, Scanning & Project Work.

Departments offer a variety of certificate courses of 30 hours duration. The courses are offered across semesters and students may choose from the following pool of available courses:
